DISCIPLINE
General Standards & Integrity
Students of At GoodShepherd School are expected to display integrity at all times and across all settings. Parents and guardians are expected to co-operate fully in helping shape their children's character.
Progression of Discipline
As students advance through higher grade levels, the school shifts its focus from externally enforced rules to encouraging self-imposed personal discipline.
Accountability & Dismissal Grounds
Students remain answerable to school authorities for their conduct both on and off campus. Grounds that may lead to dismissal include:
- Misbehavior in public spaces or transport conveyances.
- Irregular attendance, habitual illness, or persistent idleness.
- Objectionable moral behavior or actions disrupting regular school life.
- Continual failure to demonstrate satisfactory academic progress.
- Discourtesy, disrespect, or disobedience towards teachers and school staff.
SCHOOL REGULATIONS
Arrival & Morning Assembly
Students must arrive at least 15 minutes before assembly. School gates are locked immediately after the assembly bell, and late arrivals will be sent home at the risk of their parents/guardians.
Post-Vacation Attendance
Attendance on the first day back after vacations is mandatory.
- Absence without prior approved leave incurs a fine of Rs. 100/- per day.
- In cases of illness, the school must be notified on or before opening day to avoid penalties.
- Unexcused absences exceeding five days right after a vacation make the student liable to dismissal.
Absence Clearance
Students returning after an absence must record their reason in their regularity record and obtain the Principal's signature before joining class.
Extended Unapproved Absence
Absence without permission for one month results in the student's name being removed from the school rolls. Re-admission requires paying full admission fees and remains entirely at the Principal's discretion.
Behavioral Expectations
Every pupil must demonstrate strict regularity, implicit obedience, honesty, courteous speech/conduct, and cleanliness in attire and personal hygiene.
Care of School Property
Students must treat all school property with care. Scratching, defacing, or damaging desks, benches, furniture, or walls (even accidentally) must be reported immediately. Parents/students are responsible for compensating or making good any property damage.
Classroom Responsibility
Each class group is held responsible for maintaining its assigned classroom property.
Jewelry
No jewelry is permitted on school grounds.
Parent/Guardian Visits
Parents and guardians may not visit students or interview teachers during active school hours without prior authorization from the Principal.
Promotion Timeline
No student will be promoted to the next grade before the completion of the academic year.
Gifts & Remuneration
Giving gifts or monetary tokens to staff members in their honor is strictly forbidden unless authorized by the Principal.
Fee Clearance
All term fees and outstanding dues must be paid in full prior to examination dates. Failure to settle dues prohibits students from taking examinations.
Attendance Requirement
Students must maintain a minimum of 90% attendance across school days as a prerequisite for grade promotion.
Finality of Results
Final year-end results cannot be reconsidered. The Principal holds ultimate authority on all promotion decisions.
Silence
Strict silence must be maintained on school grounds during instructional class hours.
Tiffin/Meals
All students are expected to bring their own tiffin/lunch boxes.
Prohibited Conduct
Smoking and chewing pan are strictly forbidden.
Interpersonal Respect
Students must treat peers respectfully. Name-calling, spreading rumors, and damaging another student's reputation are strictly prohibited.
Prohibited Items
Bringing crackers, cameras, mobile phones, or any hazardous items to school is strictly forbidden.
General Demeanor
Students are required to remain polite on all occasions, addressing all staff politely and exhibiting refinement, honesty, and self-restraint.
Strikes / Bandhs
If a bandh (general strike) occurs on an exam day, the rescheduled examination date will be communicated to students later.
Co-curricular Participation
Participation in all curricular and co-curricular activities organized by the school is compulsory for every student.
FEES
Tuition Fees
Tuition fees are charged for all 12 months of the year and for as long as a student’s name remains on the school roll.
Monthly Fee Payment
School fee is to be paid online using the Mobile App. before the 20ᵗʰ of every month. Defaulters will be fined Rs. 50 per month. If fees are left unpaid for a period of more than one month the students' names are liable to be struck off the roll.
